Microsoft tags are the new black

I came across Microsoft Tags during research for an on going project.

This QR code links users to the Microsoft Tags website.

I am producing a set of postage stamp inspired by British Fashion. To help the flow of information and ultimately educate I am including a website which explains my inspiration and the content of the stamp.

The most efficient way of allowing user to access the website was using QR codes. The QR code is hidden beneath the stamp design which is peeled back by the user. They can easily scan the code using their mobile phone and access the online content.

QR codes are essentially barcodes. Originally used in an industrial environment there potential has been developed considerably and they can now be designed to hold text, URLs and phone numbers.

When I tried to use QR codes with the stamps it didnt work due to size constraints.

Microsoft tags can be smaller, are aesthetically more interesting, easy to produce and can be easily customized. Ive put an example of one beneath which would link users to this blog.

The potential exposure tags like this offer really excites me.

On a final note I would like to comment on what an idiot Sarah Palin sounded when she refered to North Korea as our 'friends.'
